Diandra’s Top 20 Music Moments of 2013
17. Shiina Ringo and Saito Neko Quartet – Between Today and Tomorrow
Netsuai Hakkaku Chyuu (熱愛発覚中) [MV] is a fun collaboration with Yasutaka Nataka (中田ヤスタカ, Capsule), and APPLE [MV], with Towa Tei, is bouncy and pleasant. The finest track on Ukina (浮き名), however, is this dramatic instrumental theme for the movie Between Today and Tomorrow.
16. Blitz the Ambassador feat. 20Syl, Emicida & Y’akoto – Respect Mine
Blitz the Ambassador is a Ghanaian immigrant in New York who brings a variety of international sounds and artists to his music. One of the great tracks on his free The Warm-Up EP is Respect Mine, with French producer and DJ 20Syl (Soundcloud), Brazilian MC Emicida (Last.fm), and German-Ghanaian singer Y’akoto (Last.fm).
15. Nico Vega – Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)
I didn’t watch the recent A&E network attempt at the Bonnie and Clyde myth, but it brought us this fierce cover of the 1966 Cher (and Nancy Sinatra) standard.
Dude… Tricky’s new album just lit up my life. I was missing him something FIERCE for so long… HaHA. I LOVE his new stuff! And T.O.P. just makes my life with his videos. Actually GD and the whole Big Bang outfit manage to make some of THE most creative and interesting… and weird… videos in Kpop! YAY for this list!!!
@Camiele, yeah, it’s great to see Tricky still going strong. And all the Big Bang members’s project can be fun and…out there, but TOP is my favorite.
@Camiele, did you try Stromae’s music?
@Diandra Rodriguez, I have not. I’ve not had a chance to sit down and actually just listen to music to try it.
@Camiele, lists have been made for all.
@amy, that (http://www.xiami.com/song/showcollect/id/27335483) is awesome!
