K-Pop Night Out – Austin, Texas 2015

Asian Chairshot was up for their time in the spotlight next, and they sure brought their A-game to the table. The quiet melodies Asian Chairshot mixes with heavy guitar work is something no one else is really doing right now, and the audience was definitely mesmerized by the trio. Youngwan Hwang belted out powerful lyrics while tapping out the beat in his charmingly bare feet (he had a puddle to deal with thanks to Eastern Sidekick.) While Heenam Son played out magic on his guitar and Kyewan Park wrapped everything together on drums. I can’t say I’ve been as hypnotized by a band on stage before. I wanted to watch, but I really just wanted to listen and found myself closing my eyes more than I should (being there as a photographer…) In all, this transcendent trio take listeners on a wild psychedelic trip through time and space, all from the center of any stage they step foot on.
