The Iron Lady Trailer

Disregarding anyone’s political views, we all have to admit that Margaret Thatcher is an important political figure deserving of a well-made film. The first trailer for The Iron Lady seems to point in the direction of The Queen, and even The King’s Speech.

Interestingly enough, most early criticism is being aimed at the lack of negative views on Thatcher, like in The Guardian’s article by Suzanne Moore — Where was the mention of Margaret Thatcher’s victims? — and countless senseless non-debates between liberals and conservatives on IMDb boards.

Even more interesting, however, are these comments [1] from people that have worked with Thatcher that aren’t being kind to the production itself with comments like, “I can’t be bothered to sensationalise this rubbish.

But then again, The Iron Lady is a movie. If we wanted the truth, we’d watch a History Channel special.

The Iron Lady will now open December 30th in New York and Los Angeles, with expanded dates on January 6th and 13th.

    AMEN!

I for one can’t wait to wet my pants as I see Streep, perhaps, do one of the best roles of her life!
