The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Trailer

The first official trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, whose debut took place hours ago during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, has made its way online.

Following the events of The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way, Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

While most of the cast from The Hunger Games are set to reprise their roles once again, they are joined by Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claffin, Meta Golding, Lynn Cohen, Alan Ritchson and Amanda Plummer. Also, Francis Lawrence will not only direct The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but he also gets to direct the film adaptation for Mockingjay, which will be split in two films set to be released between 2014 and 2015.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to premiere on November 22, 2013.
