The Edge of Seventeen Red Band Trailer

A lot of people are apparently not liking Hailee Steinfeld’s upcoming high school movie, The Edge of Seventeen. Others are hating on the Howie Day Help cover [1] used in the trailer. I’m all like *shock* “Huayi Brothers is doing American high school movies now.” xD

No shock there for anyone but me?

Anyway~ this is Kelly Fremon’s debut as a director after collaborating in Demi Moore’s directorial debut Streak (2008) and writing the script for Vicky Jenson’s last big screen credit in Post Grad. It stars Hailee Steinfeld as Nadine, the ‘unattractive’ teenager who can’t win at life because she has an overtly-attractive brother (Blake Jenner). But she’s got her bestie, Krista (Haley Lu Richardson)… until Nadine finds out they’re hooking up on the side.

Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick also star, as Nadine’s overtly-angsty teacher and the mother who never gets it.

The Edge of Seventeen is expected to hit theaters this September in the US. Another addition to anyone following the #52FilmsByWomen challenge.

Also, is it REALLY a Red Band Trailer?
