Everybody on the site tends to love Amy and Tina– less enthusiastic? My mom. She likes both of them, just doesn’t particularly love what she knows as “American humor.” I hear a lot about it from people that aren’t particularly big on American comedies. Yes, that includes SNL.
SNL humor is hit or miss for me, and I’ve never really taken to Amy’s Parks and Recreation, or Tina’s 30 Rock… but somehow I still really like them as they make me laugh on their own. Comedy, to each their own.
Anyway- Sisters is directed by Pitch Perfect helm with a script by SNL-writing alumni Paula Pell casting Tina and Amy against type as two sisters who go back home to find out their parents are selling their childhood home. For a final moment of glory, they have a party.
Cast is rounded up with roles and appearances by Ike Barinholtz, Samantha Bee, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, John Leguizamo, John Cena, Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Heather Matarazzo, Adrian Martinez and Bobby Moynihan.
Sisters is set for a December 18th release offering counter product to the obviously massive release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
