I’m getting Chak De! India meets Mary Kom meets Million Dollar Baby vibes. You know? Down on his luck trainer, who crosses the path of the National Committee, gets sent South to train the women’s boxing team, but finds a firecracker with much attitude. They clash but, ultimately, form a close bond. Except Ritika Singh is a real life boxer, so she’s totally believable on-screen.

Can she deliver emotionally? Actor-producer R. Madhavan (who’s recently come off from the success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns) and producer (and our fave bias) Rajkumar Hirani think so [1], though Hirani was apprehensive about the Madhavan and director Sudha Kongara’s decision to cast a sportsperson instead of an actor. On first looks, it seems to have paid off!
