Only God Forgives Trailer

One of our most anticipated films of this year, Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives, finally gets its first official trailer.

The premise is the following:

“Bangkok. Ten years ago Julian (Ryan Gosling) killed a cop and went on the run. Now he manages a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation. Respected in the criminal underworld, deep inside, he feels empty. When Julian’s brother murders a prostitute, the police call on retired cop Chang (Vithaya Pansringarm) – the Angel of Vengeance. Chang allows the father to kill his daughter’s murderer, then ‘restores order’ by chopping off the man’s right hand. Julian’s mother Jenna (Kristin Scott Thomas) – the head of a powerful criminal organization – arrives in Bangkok to collect her son’s body. She dispatches Julian to find his killers and ‘raise hell’.”

Winding Refn and Gosling previously worked together in 2011’s Drive. Only God Forgives shares similar aspects with Drive, but it is said to be more brutal with its action/crime scenes.

The film will be screened first at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The US release date is scheduled for July 19, 2013.

I wish this one premiered on Peru during this year, even if it’s on December 31st. Highly looking forward to this.

@Rodrigo, should probably reach theaters during March LOL – but if anyone’s smart, they’ll get it by January. If I had the money, I would do it. You know I would. I wish some distributor would hire me to pick what movies to bring.
