On the Road Trailer
A trailer for Walter Salles’ (Central do Brasil, Diarios de Motocicleta) adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel On the Road has been unleashed.
On the Road, based on the road trips of Kerouac and friends across the USA, follows Sal Paradise (Sam Riley), an aspiring New York writer, who bonds quickly with Dean (Garret Hedlund), an ex-convict, and hit the road together. Thirsting for freedom, they discover the world, the ecstasy of experience, the connectedness of humanity and ultimately themselves.
The cast includes Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, Danny Morgan, Alice Braga, Viggo Mortensen, Steve Buscemi, Terrence Howard, Tom Sturridge and Elisabeth Moss. Francis Ford Coppola is involved with the film’s production. Gustavo Santaolalla, who previously worked with Salles on Diarios de Motocicleta, is in charge of the film’s music.
On the Road is set to premiere in France and Germany on May 23, 2012. The UK release date is on September 21, 2012. A release date for the USA has yet to be announced.
