Lipstick Under my Burkha Teaser Trailer with English Subtitles

The first teaser to Alankrita Shrivastava’s upcoming film, Lipstick Under my Burkha, following the lives of four women in search of a little freedom. Rehana Abidi (Plabita Borthakur) struggles with her cultural identity as she aspires to be a pop singer, while another woman (Aahana Kumra) wants to elope with her lover and escape the claustrophobia of being in a small town.

In the meantime, Rosy (Ratna Pathak) is a 55-year-old widow, who rediscovers her sexuality by indulging on a phone romance; and Konkona Sen Sharma plays a mother of three kids, living an alternate lifestyle.

The music will be in charge of Zeb Bangash.

Lipstick Under my Burkha will premiere at this year’s edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival [Website] on October 26th and followed by the 30th; as well as featured on this year’s Mumbai Film Festival [Website], and according to the Wikipedia date— a December 2nd release.
