Killing Them Softly Trailer

The trailer for Killing Them Softly has been released online.

Directed by Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), the film follows Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt), a ruthless yet amiable assassin with a penchant for killing his victims from a distance. He is tasked with taking down two young thieves (Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn) who knocked over a poker game. It wouldn’t have been such a big deal if said poker game wasn’t being put on by gangsters, and if the amateurs didn’t keep bragging about their $100,000 loot.

The cast includes James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Vincent Curatola, Richard Jenkins, Trevor Long, Sam Shepard, Garret Dillahunt, and Bella Heathcote.

Killing Them Softly is based on the 1974 novel Cogan’s Trade by George V. Higgins. The film premieres on October 19, 2012.
