Hirokazu Koreeda’s After the Storm Trailer with English Subtitles

Here’s the latest film by Hirokazu Koreeda, which was released about a month ago without subtitles.

After the Storm (海よりもまだ深く, Umi Yori mo Mada Fukaku) stars Koreeda’s favorite beta-male actor Abe Hiroshi as an award-winning writer who’s stuck in debt due to his gambling habit. He’s got a strained relationship with his aging mother (Kirin Kiki), ex-wife and son, struggling to take back control of his existence until a stormy summer night.

Maki Yoko, Satomi Kobayashi, Lily Franky and Isao Hashizume complete the cast.

The film is set to open May 21st, 2016 in Japan.
