22 Jump Street Trailer

I’ll admit that before seeing 21 Jump Street, I would have never imagined it to be shockingly enjoyable — not to mention thinking positively about Channing Tatum — and even two of YAM Magazine‘s writers voted for it for our Top Films of 2012 Redux edition. Anyways, Tatum and Jonah Hill are back as old-ass students for 22 Jump Street, whose trailer has been unleashed online today.

The sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street — in case you’re wondering about “22” for the new title, the trailer explains it anyways — sees Jenko (Tatum) and Schmidt (Hill) moving literally across the street to a new division and a new (albeit similar) assignment: go deep undercover at a local college to crack a crime ring within a fraternity.

Throughout the trailer, we get glimpses of more banter, more drinking, and an even more ridiculous car chase. Along the way, we see a few familiar faces from the original outing, including Dave Franco, Nick Offerman, Ice Cube and Rob Riggle.

The question is: can 22 Jump Street top or match the first film? Expectations for this one will be higher this time, but we’ll have to wait for June 13, 2014 when the film premieres. I expect this one to fare like most sequels tend to do, but I hope I can at least enjoy it and have some laughs.
