Marion (Julie Delpy) has long supressed the disastrous trip to Paris that put the final nail in the coffin for her and Jack’s relationship and left her with an unexpected pregnancy. Nowadays she lives in a trendy attic apartment in New York with her new boyfriend Mingus (Chris Rock), who is a popular radio host. Two days before Marion’s photo exhibition, her French family, consisting of her father, sister and sister’s boyfriend (Marion’s ex-boyfriend), arrive to New York on a visit. They bring with them, besides love, of course, chaos, French sausages and a common hatred for Americans.
