XIA ft. Flowsik – Tarantallegra

Sorry, Julyssa. I kinda had to get to this before you did. In all honesty, however, I have no words. So I won’t be saying anything. I’ll just let you see for yourself the unbridled EPIC of one Xia Junsu.

A YinYueTai version is available.

If you can think at all after watching this video, your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

As unexpected as my path was to loving all things weird, more unexpected is my ability to get attention for writing about the stuff.

I dunno about the song, but I’m enthralled by the way he moves… LOL, not only when he dances, but when he walks. xD

@amy, I think that’s the overwhelming concesus. The song is meh… but do you SEEEEEE this man?!?!?! The things his body does… unfair!

Dude, being banned from major TV stations does wonders for one’s imagination it seems… HaHa.

      @Julyssa, *BANGBANG*… sorry, but you asked… HaHa.

To be honest I was kidna excited that I got to post it before you did… :P But, yeah, you won’t be disappointed. As far as the video goes, that is. Don’t know how you’ll feel about the song.

    THE.FUCK.DID.I.JUST.WATCH!

Somehow, it feels approriate that I just watched this before going to the Vatican…

Anyway, the video is dope, the dancing is off this world but the song is pretty meh.

Yes, Junsu looks delicious but it’s a little over the top. Camie… once I get home we will have some serious spazzing to do. Can’t appreciate this while mymum is breathing down my neck.

@Julyssa, You know what…? I like Junsu over the top. His Xia persona is quite a bit more than it was when it was rockin an “h” at the end, and I really like it. And what better way to give the finger to the industry and to shed your baby fat at the same time than to just go completely off the wall? There’s no question now as to his level of maturity or his confidence in his sexuality. I’m all for it.

But I was half-expecting not to like the song itself. It wasn’t the autotune, per se (it was actually used a lot less than I thought it was gonna be, and it was relatively sparce considering it’s a “new age” dance track). It was more I feel like Kpop’s understanding of dance music is sorta lackluster — not in production (I’d be a fool to think that), but in overall appeal to me. However, I know that his ballads and less dance-centric tracks are going to be almost flawless… I mean, that voice… done!

But anyway, I take the MV as just the MV. All I wanted to see was how fierce he was gonna be and he was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD-FUCK-GAGA-GIMME-MORE-XIA fierce!!! And it just made the fag hag in me soooooooooooooooooo happy!

@Camiele, Oki so it seems that Junsu let his role in Elizabeth get to his head way too much. Which doesn’t need to be a bad thing but it’s hard for me to accept Junsu like this. Not that I am not aware of what the dude is capable of (gurl please) but I still feel is way too much.

He also needs to stop letting his brother compose music for him, stop working so damn much with Flowsik when Eddie IS.JUST.FREACKING.THERE and stop letting Jaejoong dress him.

I dunno, I guess I have such high expectations of Junsu that I get crushed when he doesn’t love up to it. Not that I think Tarantallegra is bad, it’s just not good enough. Or I am being too hard, I am not sure. Ugh whutever!

        • Camiele says:

@Julyssa Diaz, I don’t think it’s so much your high expectations. I think you have some sort of idea in your head of what he’s supposed to do that he’s not fulfilling. Like I said, I think it’s amazing. I’m not exactly a fan of the song, but the MV and Junsu’s desire to make a big ass statement, no matter what it is, makes me really happy. I have no problem accepting Junsu like this.

And seeing as this is just the first damn video from the album, I mean can we give the brotha a chance to see what else he’s gonna do? Please? It IS is his first solo album after all.

As far as letting Juno write for him… I don’t know his songs enough to even form an opinion of that, but I really am not a fan of the song. But, of course, it’s also not my kind of music. So I can’t really judge how good or bad it is when I don’t even like the genre. Like Lady Gaga. I can’t stand her music. But I think she has a good voice when she’s singing and not letting the persona get the best of her. But I also don’t like her type of music, but I respect her for owning what she’s got. Though I don’t particularly think she’s at all original as far as that goes, I dig that there’s a Hause of GaGa.

PS~ Not comparing Junso to GaGa (Lord knows that the boy’s more talented than she is.. well, in my opinoin, anyway). But in terms of the discussion of types of music, the comparison is apt.)
