Utada Hikaru featuring Shiina Ringo – A Two-Hour Vacation

Since the announcement of her return to music last year [1], fans of Utada Hikaru have been eagerly waiting for the release of Fantôme, which will be released on September 28th, over 8 years since her last Japanese studio album, Heart Station. You haven’t seen me singing Prisoner of Love [PV] at the top of my lungs. LOL Last Friends, the drama that started it all~

Early in January, it was revealed that Utada’s Hanataba wo Kimi ni (花束を君に) [30s V] had been chosen as the main theme for NHK’s asadorama Toto Neechan (とと姉ちゃん), followed by the announcement that Manatsu no Toriame (真夏の通り雨) [Short PV], which would serve as the theme for NTV’s NEWS ZERO. Now, all ready for the release of Michi (道), Utada has finally filled in the gaps when she revealed her tracklist a month ago [1], revealing her collaborations with Nariaki Obukuro (小袋成彬, OBKR), rapper KOHH and Shiina Ringo, who wanted Utada to make a comeback for years, but respected her decision to live her private life, find love and start a family [1].

Titled A Two-Hour Vacation (二時間だけのバカンス, Nijikan Dake no BAKANSU), the track serves as theme of the latest RECOCHOKU (レコチョク) commercial. Recochoku is a Japan digital content aggregator owned by the major Japanese labels, pushing the island into the music-streaming territory [1].

There’s a 1min cut of the video available at her website.

Fantôme is already available for pre-order on iTunes.

Will update when a longer version of the song is available~ :P
