The Silk Road Ensemble, Yo-Yo Ma featuring Abigail Washburn – Going Home

The Silk Road Ensemble is a project backed by Chinese-American cellist Yo-Yo Ma who, “inspired by his curiosity about the world and eager to forge connections across cultures and generations,” founded the non-profit organization to bring performers and composers from all over the world.

This time around The Silk Road Ensemble — represented here by Chinese composer Wu Tong, Syrian composer Kinan Azmeh and Ma — collaborating with American folk americana musician Abigail Washburn; who had recently won a Grammy for Best Folk Album with the self-titled Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn with… well, Béla Fleck; with the song Coming Home in both Mandarin and English, an extract of the ensemble’s latest album, Sing Me Home, which will be released on April 22nd as a musical companion to the documentary The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, which will be released in June.
