Shiina Ringo – Seishun no Mabataki

Since last year, songwriter singer diva extraordinaire Shiina Ringo has been celebrating the 15 years of her debut with a bunch of releases [1], and she’s continuing this year with the release of Gyakuyunyu ~Kowan-kyoku~ (逆輸入 ~港湾局~, which translates to something like Reimportation ~Port and Harbor Authority~), a compilation of covers that she’s written or arranged for other artists during her career.

Seishun no Mabataki (青春の瞬き, or Blink of Youth) is a song Ringo wrote and arranged (alongside Tokyo Jihen) for Chiaki Kuriyama circa 2011-2012, the B-Side of Kuriyama’s single for Identité de la Lune (月夜の肖像), which was used as an ending theme for Kuriyama’s show Himitsu Chouhouin Erika.

You can listen to the original here.

Gyakuyunyu ~Kowan-kyoku~ will be released on May 27th, 2014.
