Rapsody – Dark Knights

First video post of the New Year, and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. Jamla Records superhero Rapsody blasts into 2014 with her homage to the dark and glorious The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, with her single Dark Knights from her latest album, She Got Game. With references to the films’ most memorable characters — including Bane, Catwoman, the Joker, and, of course, Bruce Wayne — she makes it very plain that not only is she possibly the most talented and ferocious MC, she may just be the game’s biggest superhero.

The MV, directed by none other than Kenneth Price, the man who’s directed all of her videos thus far, is heavy, clever, and it fits perfectly with the deceivingly sinister tone of the music. Dark Knights is a fantastic tune, showcasing the talented MC’s ability to tell remarkable stories and still maintain a steady and rhythmic flow. If this is how hip-hop starts in 2014, it’s gonna be one hell of a good year!
