Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – The Death of You and Me

Oasis split up for good in 2009 after yet another fight between the Gallagher brothers. While Liam Gallagher is working with his new band Beady Eye, Noel Gallagher chose to go solo. His upcoming album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is set for a fall release, but today the music video for the first single, The Death of You and Me, was released.

The song is what I kind of expected from Noel, something that sounded more creative than what his brother’s band have come up with. While both brothers made Oasis what it was, it was clear that Noel was the driving force behind the creativity in Oasis despite Liam singing most of the songs.

The Death of You and Me isn’t about the break-up of Oasis, as Noel stated it is “a romantic song about … people escaping the surroundings they’re in … and having a jolly good time and living happily ever after”.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is set for release on October 17, 2011.
