Nneka – Shining Star//

Nneka releases the second single from her latest album, Soul Is Heavy. The song, entitled Shining Star, has a soft melody a la Corinne Bailey Rae’s Put Your Records On, but is wrapped in an earthier vocal tone than her British peer. The album itself is as bruisingly beautiful and honest as her earlier work.

I actually heard of Corrine Bailey Rae before. But Nneka sounds pretty good too.
