Top 5 LGBT Artists that Changed My Life

Though there seems to be an odd balance of females to males on this list, the truth is these are the artists that really framed my musical perspective into what it is now. But it goes beyond that. Music is second in my life only to my brother. It’s always held that position in my heart, my very DNA since the first song I ever heard. However, it’s not just the music that made these artists so important to my development. They helped me own myself. Helped me see the beauty in loving without boundaries and without fear. Without the honesty and fearlessness of these artists, I don’t know how lost I’d be. But at each interval of my life when it was time for me to grow spiritually and emotionally, these artists were there, driving me in the right direction.

More than just paying homage to them with YAM’s blogathon, I want to thank them, wherever they are, for their never-ending influence on who am I and what I want to do with my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

As unexpected as my path was to loving all things weird, more unexpected is my ability to get attention for writing about the stuff.
