Rodrigo: A Life In Music

1990: Lush (Gala) | The Simpsons (The Simpsons Sing The Blues)

The Simpsons… well, my dad bought the album and as a kid, it was a guilty pleasure of mine. Do the Bartman!

As for Lush, I found out about them thanks to Rock Band, lol. Very late, yes. But their sounds made me fall for Lush.

1991: Pearl Jam (Ten)

My favorite 1991 album is Nirvana’s Nevermind, but Julyssa already took that away from me. Grrr… anyways, 1991 was also the year in which Pearl Jam made their debut with Ten. Sure Nirvana is the most memorable band from the grunge era, but Pearl Jam might be the best overall.

1992: Ace of Base (Happy Nation/The Sign)

That album was played heavily around my house back then and I still like All That She Wants.

1993: Los Rodríguez (Sin Documentos) | Pedro Suárez-Vertiz (No existen técnicas para olvidar)

More than the album, Sin Documentos [MV] was and still is amazing to listen thanks to Andrés Calamaro. But I also have to recognize Pedro Suárez-Vertiz one way or another, and while I could include him for his second album, it was during 1993 when he made his debut album. Cuéntame is still one of my favorite PSV songs.

1994: Green Day (Dookie)

Dookie has Basket Case, which still remains one of my favorite songs of all time. That song’s lyrics also represented parts of my life, and while I might have trouble finding songs that can describe one, Basket Case works for me.

@Julili, Oh you guys are so predictable LOL using all the cool bands xD It was obvious people were going to battle it out for Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Greenday, The Strokes and Coldplay xD

I almost picked Franz Ferdinand’s second album just because I got to sign it.

I’m surprised Rodrigo picked Lily Allen xD – that’s her only good album, no? I almost… ALMOST picked Kate Nash’ Made of Bricks. xD
