Ghood Vibes: Interview with MFBTY

With this album you now have plenty of material and more than enough international fans the world over, do you have any plans to tour outside of Korea?

Tiger JK: We’re still trying to figure out how to make that happen.

Yoonmirae: We would love to!

Bizzy: Yes, we’d love to do that. I want to meet our fans in person, just like we did at Midem and Music Matters. Those were a lot of fun!

I’m always curious to find out who inspired the people I find inspiring (Like the three of you) so who are some artists that helped make you all such great musicians?

Tiger JK: I’m a great con artist if you think that! But keep that thought – don’t you ever change! There are so many artists that have inspired me: Marvin Gaye, Sly, Gang Starr, Tribe, Leaders of the New, Michael Jackson, Geto Boys, Duke Ellington, Miles, Freestyle Fellowships, Hieroglyphics, NWA , The Alkoholikz, Bob Marley, LL Cool J, Bruce Lee , Wu-Tang Clan, Slick Rick, and the lists goes on and on.

Yoonmirae: I get what you’re saying, and I so wish I could answer this question for you, but there isn’t enough space for me to write who I listen to as I love so many people. And at any given time I’m sure consciously or subconsciously I channel some of them.

Bizzy: I’m a big fan of all hip-hop music from 2Pac to Biggie, Nas to Jay-Z, J. Cole to Drake – you name it, I like it.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions with us, any message to your fans?

Tiger JK: Thank you for your time as well. Fans, walk up to the first person you see and give them a big smile. Tell him or her that Tiger JK told you to do it.

Yoonmirae: Thank you for taking an interest in us! And thank you to everyone taking the time to read this interview! MFBTY, love, and peace!

Bizzy: Thank you for being a part of MFBTY, and thank you for understanding Feel Ghood Music.

MFBTY has been one big breath of fresh air for me with the latest onslaught of Korean pop riding the Hallyu wave and  slamming into the shores of the US lately. The members always manage to bring a varied musical blend to the table, and I’m never bored listening to their work. It was an honor to interview them, and I hope that their schedules allow for a US tour. Hopefully the success the Korean pop groups have been enjoying lately opens some doors and in the next year or so we’ll be able to say there is an MFBTY world tour. I know a lot of fans in many cities that would be up for it.

You can track MFBTY on Twitter.

Their album, Wondaland is available on iTunes and YesAsia.
