2000 – Frequency

There are two things that I really love: hot guys and science fiction. This movie has them both, in spades. Jim Caviezel has probably never been hotter than he is in this film, Dennis Quaid is at his hottest since The Big Easy and the Sci-Fi is primo. Plus, you get a bonus detective story.
2001 - Amélie
This was probably the first French film I ever saw (I’ve seen lots and lots now, for the record) and I just fell in love with it. It was also one of the first films I bought on DVD. Such beautiful colors and such a whimsical story, with just the right amount of romance.
2002 – Minority Report

More Sci-Fi. I have Steven Spielberg to thank for introducing me to Colin Farrell, whom I love dearly, with this film. Also, one of the best Philip K. Dick film adaptations (they tend to be hit and miss).
2003 – Big Fish
Oh, Tim Burton you did so well with this movie. I always loved him, but this movie just hit all the right notes for me more than any of his other films (with, perhaps, the exception of Sleepy Hollow). I guess part of this has to do with my undying love for Ewan McGregor.
2004 – Wicker Park

This was the first film I saw in theaters after going off to college. I loved it. I still love it. Diane Kruger is a hot woman and she dances and dances and dances in this movie. The soundtrack is great and the color scheme is gorgeous. And the final scene packs quite the emotional wallop.

oh hoh… interesting picks.
What do you think of that news story saying that in the original Pretty in Pink script, Duckie ended up getting the girl?
Also, you might be interested in checking out the Japanese remake version of Ghost, you know… just for kicks. LOL
And I loveee love Frequency too!
I think this series is great to see what kind of people we really are. xD

@amy, I read that and they filmed it that way and then the test audience hated it because how they edited the film, it’s clear that Andie doesn’t feel the same way about Duckie as he does for her and in ending it that way it rings false.

@amy, I liked frequency a lot more the first time I saw it. I revisited it last year and it didn’t really hold up that well. Still its a decent thriller.

Very interesting choices you made there. I’ll admit I had Ghost, While You Were Sleeping and Amélie as my options when creating the list. :)
