Creative Melancholic’s Top10 2010 Posters – Part 1

This year, a lot of movies came out; some are loved and some are loathed. I have a number of favorites in terms of posters, but I can’t say the same when they’re on the big screens. Believe it or not, most of the movies below, I’ve never watched before! Since this isn’t about what I watch or didn’t watch, here are my Top 10 picks of Movie Posters for 2010!

10. Alice in Wonderland

A colourful collection, don’t you think? When I first saw the preview of the posters for the first time, I thought “Hey, these are pretty eye catching.” I love that they are a pretty colourful and quirky comb.

Sure the posters may look interesting, but does it translate to the big screens? Guess not. Though it was a box office hit, critics weren’t very impressed with the storyline but it was definitely a visual feast. I have not watch this movie, so I can’t really give a rating, but from the looks of the reviews, I think I would give it a meh. A different twist from the Disney classic and book that we all know and love.

Great first batch, I love the art direction on the Alice posters (FYI: I did enjoy the film, it felt super girl power LOL). I agree on The Runaways having only that one good poster.

Of course I have a terrible bias for the Black Swan posters, especially the limited editions xD But did you noticed that the poster with Portman's White Swan face has two version? One looks slightly asymmetrical, while this one is the "pretty" version xD They made the change after the film got released and picked up steam. I still wonder why they did it though.

I was also impressed with the characters posters for From Paris with Love – the film… not so much xD I felt really uncomfortable to laugh at it LOL

When I found her blog, it was like the Twilight Zone. We were blogging about similar stuff xD – and many of her picks for posters were my fave this year too.
