The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky

WEDNESDAY

Here’s Peter Capaldi talking about Doctor Who Series 9. It includes how glad he is to have Maisie Williams in the set, but also not-so-great in order to live a Game of Thrones spoiler free life~

It’s great to have somebody who’s eighteen around, because she’s full of fun and vigour and life and she’s not spoiled. But at the same time you can get Game Of Thrones gossip off of her [laughs]. She starts telling me it and then she starts revealing things I don’t want to know so I have to get her to be quiet.

Now that we are on topic, BBC wants you to make your own Twelve Doctor vs. Dalek fanfilm a reality! Basically, in “Mission Dalek”, you tell your story in any digital form including video, animation, or artwork. The springboard should be the “The Doctor’s Year 2000 Diary” which has a bunch of new footage the BBC is releasing to fans to remix. There’s even a tutorial in case you need it. No, slashfic is not allowed. Sadly. There’s also a contest for those who submit their fanfilm and like in the UK. Those lucky bastards who win will get to visit the Doctor Who set, meet Capaldi, and put their grubby hands on the Daleks. The rest of us will only be part of a “global celebration”. But hey, do all the fanfilm you want!

Here’s a new promo picture of Daredevil‘s suit, ahead of the second season!

As for the other Marvel/Neflix series on the work, there’s been a possible leak of Jessica Jones‘s episode titles! Some of those titles might be a tad spoilery. Like episode 12, which might be called “AKA Jewel and the Power Man“. Sure, we knew Luke Cage/Power Man was going to be in the series, but this may be the exact episode they team up (or even meet)!

Here we have an appropriately quick promo for The Flash Season 2. It debuts Atom Smasher, played by WWE wrestler and former world champion Edge (real name Adam Copeland). And we are promised things will get “Bigger, Badder, Faster”.

Here’s some cool looking Ash vs. Evil Dead Poster. Yup, that’s Ash (Bruce Campbell) atop “the Classic”, chilling with fellow monster-hunters Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo). Yep, that’s a nice and relatively cheap idea for a cosplay group!

THURSDAY

Welp, it seems Marvel’s Mockingbird series starring Adrianne Palicki might just happen after all! ABC ordered a pilot of Marvel’s Most Wanted, the drama will focus on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. characters Bobbi Morse (a.k.a. Mockingbird) and Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter. It sounds like an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff, but it’s totally not! Yep, they say it’s a new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story. What’s it about exactly. No idea. Those two are just going to have adventures, I guess.

Drew Struzan, you know, the awesome dude who designed the awesome Star Wars posters, claimed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens may be the best Star Wars movie yet. Said what!?

I got to read the script and subsequently I’ve seen half of it,’ he continued, “and I can tell you and the fans this: Honest to God, it is far and away probably going to be the best Star Wars you’ve ever seen.

We could have had it all! Here’s some concept art from the Jurassic Park animated series that never was. In fact, reading what conceptual artist William Stout had to say about the project, the more sad I am we never got to watch it!

This was not going to be a kiddy show (although kids of all ages, including myself, could enjoy it). They wanted the show to be a mature prime time series with top writers and state-of-the-art television animation augmented with quite a bit of CG animation.
