The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Visions of the Future~

WEDNESDAY

It seems now we have an idea how both rumors regarding the very first Star Wars spin-off movie could overlap! It seems it will be about a group of ‘pirates’ (instead of ‘bounty hunters’) hired to steal the plans of the first Death Star. Those pirates could totally include a young Han Solo since it was also rumored the Millennium Falcon will factor into the movie somehow. I am wishing more and more for these rumors to be true!

On Marvel news, we have a better image of Vision in both Avengers: Age of Ultron movie and the Uncanny Avengers comic! Here’s promor art and a teaser for an upcoming comicbook storyline:

THURSDAY

John Hurt received a knighthood! Sir John Hurt was appointed a knight for his services to drama after a career lasting more than five decades! This good Sir has been seen in movies such as Alien, Hellboy, V For Vendetta, Harry Potter and was also the “War Doctor” in Doctor Who. Right now, Sir John Hurt is working with David Yates on his live-action Tarzan film. Oh yeah, also Joan Collins is now Dame Joan Collins!

Seems Neill Blomkamp was working on a film set in the Alien/Aliens universe. He isn’t anymore, or so reads the message that came with the concept art from the mentioned project that would’ve included Signourney Weaver’s Ripley. There’s also Corporal Dwayne Hicks in the concept art which could be cool since last we saw him, Ripley, him, Bishop and Newt were on a spaceship returning to Earth. And poor Hicks and Newt were killed offscreen by the start of Alien 3, which was totally unfair! Then he went to clarify on Twitter that the studio didn’t even know he was working on it. Guess a pipe dream (for now). Does this count as fanart then?

FRIDAY

Box Office News! The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies keeps coming on top! The movie started the year dominating the North American box office with $9.3 million! Seems to have reached $200 million, making it the 12th 2014 film to reach those numbers. Congrats to my dear Middle Earth!

Seems we are getting a new TV spots for both Jurassic World and a new Avengers: Age of Ultron during this year’s Superbowl on February 1st! But we also get a new trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron on January 12th on ESPN during the College Football Playoff National Championship game! Besides that we are getting our first teaser of Ant-Man this Tuesday during the premiere of Agent Carter series on ABC!

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Stan Lee (28), Nichelle Nichols (28), Maggie Smith (28), Noomi Rapace (28), Jude Law (29), Anthony Hopkins (31), Ben Kingsley (31) and Colin Morgan (1).
