The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Thunder from down under~

TUESDAY

Here’s the hilarious trailer of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, that I also shared on Facebook! It will be available on Digital HD starting October 11, 2016, and on Blu-ray and DVD on November 1, 2016. Here’s the the box art:

Marvel has a new super team! In Champions, written by Mark Waid with art by Humberto Ramos, we have a new super team made up of the Marvel Universe’s younger (and most progressive) characters. Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Nova, Cyclops, Viv Vision, and the Totally Awesome Hulk join forces to tackle the world’s greatest threats… and change the world! Great thing that this new title’s creative team has quite a lot experience with young characters and young readers! Champions #1 drops on October 5th.

In Thor: Ragnarok‘s news of the day, guess who’s back! Back again! Odin’s back! Tell a friend! Silliness aside, seems Loki didn’t kill the Allfather (but not his father!) at the Thor: The Dark World, but turned him into a hobo? Rumour has it that Odin will be “wandering Earth as one of those crazy-looking ‘the end is nigh’ street-corner hobos, warning of the impending apocalypse” a.k.a. Ragnarok. Also, seems both Thor and Loki will visit him. Man, of this is Loki’s fault, I imagine Thor not being happy about it. I’m glad Anthony Hopkins is having fun, though!

Check out J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter sketches revealed at Pottermore. Yep, those are the drawings she sketched while writing the first book. And they are not bad at all! Check out my favourite ones: Harry looking into the Mirror of Erised, and Harry before the Dursley’s family portraits.

Here’s a patriotic new poster of Ash Vs. Evil Dead season 2, featuring Ash (Bruce Campbell), Pablo (Ray Santiago), Ruby (Lucy Lawless), and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) saluting the American flag while standing on top of some Deadites. ‘MERICA! The 10 half-hour episodes season 2 starts airing on Starz October 2, 2016.

Captain Marvel’s director hunt might be coming to an end! According to The Hollywood Reporter, there might be three women currently on the shortlist: Niki Caro (North CountryWhale Rider), Lesli Linka Glatter (Twin Peaks, Homeland, Gilmore Girls, West Wing, Mad Men), and Lorene Scafaria (Now and Then, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World). But more names could surface in the coming months. I’m liking how female-driven this movie might end up being! I mean, Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) wrote the script! I mean, Wonder Woman has awesome Patty Jenkins directing, but the writers were a bunch of dudes.

Damn, this movie is cursed. Gambit lost its director yet again. Yep, apparently it was “mutual parting of ways”. But Doug Liman wasn’t out of job for long, (in fact, dude was probably tired of a project that wasn’t moving along), and is now working with the direct competition, DC Entertainment, on that long-awaited Justice League Dark film, after Guillermo del Toro dropped out. Man, Fox should just forget about that Gambit movie, and I’m not saying that because I still don’t like the idea of Channing Tatum as Gambit~

In geeky fashion news, DC And Marvel showcase two new specialty suits line: Alter Ego and Secret Identity. The first line features the actual costume styling on the suit. The second one features a hero-inspired design on the inside of the jacket, with a matching tie and handkerchief. That line also features a few kid versions, including a Batman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man suit, and they are frankly adorable. It almost makes me wish I had a little human to dress up. Almost.
