The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: The Force is with me

TUESDAY

Damn! The one who will direct Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in the Gotham City Sirens movie will be Suicide Squad director David Ayer. OK, maybe now DC will let him edit better and this new movie won’t suck! FYI, Gotham City Sirens was a recent comic series focused on the villainesses from Batman’s rogue gallery… like Harley Quinn herself, Catwoman and Poison Ivy, among others. In the same article from The Hollywood Reporter, we’ve been confirmed that Warner Bros is developing a Suicide Squad sequel as well as looking into a spinoff featuring Deadshot.

Now we get watch all 6 episodes of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff webseries, Slingshot. Yep, we’ll join Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez, AKA Slingshot in her secret mission. Of course, there are plenty of other AOS characters here and there.

WEDNESDAY

We got new pictures of Jason Momoa in all his Aquaman glory, thanks both to Canvas of My Life, a short documentary centered in Jason Momoa’s life, and of course Zack Snyder himself from the set of Justice League.

Continuing with the theme of DCEU productions, Ben Affleck has indicates that he’ll be ready to start shooting his Batman movie in the Spring, and that they are “on the right track with that and everything is coming together”. Which is fantastic because previous reports had Batfleck saying they needed more time to “get it together”.

If I could, there’s nothing I’d love more than to direct a stand-alone iconic, great Batman movie. But it’s been done. Chris Nolan did three really great movies. I’m mindful of that. I’m not in any hurry to jam the mediocre movie down the pipe. I really want to make sure, if we do it, we get the great version and one that’s worthy of tradition of guys like Tim Burton, Chris Nolan, and Christian Bale.

Rumor has it that Megan Fox could play Poison Ivy in Gotham City Sirens film we mentioned earlier. Apparently homegirl has ordered some certain comic book issues to her Warner Bros. address: Harley Quinn #14, #17, and #38. Yep, the ones that explore Poison Ivy’s relationship with Harley Quinn. Well, I do like that she’s doing research if she’s getting the part.

It’s not a surprise that Donnie Yen likes to design martial arts style for his different movies, and Rogue One was no exception! Yep, Chirrut’s fighting style was totally unique! Well, blind staff-fighting against numerous opponents must be something else. Make me wonder how accurate was this Hot-Toys videos where Donnie Yen’s Chirrut figure fights off Stormtroopers. Sure, it is inspired by his moves shown in the movie trailer, but did they actually consult Donnie? Still, it looks badass.
