The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Secret convergences!

THURSDAY

You know all those past event promos we were getting lately from Marvel? As we all suspected, they were totally related to next Summer’s Secret Wars event, And here Marvel has released a teaser video titled “Battleworld Revealed!”, which puts all those promos literally on the map, where each represents a sort of Nation, and definitely gets us all ready for said Secret Wars. So, what exactly is this about? A multiverse wars? It could end up with a similar idea to whatever DC is cooking with their Convergence event~

James Gunn is ready for more Guardians of the Galaxy. In fact, he “had a basic story for number two”~

We open up on a “Mission: Impossible” scenario where all the characters die…No, to be honest, I had the basic story for number two while I was working on number one, and perhaps even beyond that. So it’s gonna answer a lot of questions that are proposed in the first one, and we’ll be able to get to know some of the characters we didn’t get to know in the first one a little bit more, and we might meet a few new characters too.

Habemus official name of Star Wars: Episode VII! And it’s kinda ridiculous~ It’s called Star Wars: The Force Awakens! And it has completed has completed principal photography! Which means they are totally in schedule for the December 18, 2015 premiere! At least it’s not “Into Darkness” or uses a “V” instead of “Vs”~

Also, some interesting possible spoilers of the role of Luke Skywalker in the movie. If they are true they would make this new trilogy most interesting!

On totally unnecesary news, there will be a Toy Story 4, and will be directed by John Lasseter. What what WHAT are you doing, Disney/Pixar?!? Toy Story 3 had a perfect ending! This better be the most amazing idea ever to make a fourth movie! Well, at least Lasseter seems confident in that.

We love these characters so much; they are like family to us. We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before. Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself.

Lasseter also talked to LA Times saying they ain’t doing it for the money and once more implid that the new story is freaking good.

A lot of people in the industry view us doing sequels as being for the business of it, but for us it’s pure passion. We only make sequels when we have a story that’s as good as or better than the original.

Sure, most of the time… but that didn’t work out so well with Cars, right?

FRIDAY

BlizzCon happened and with it two viral sites were announced for Duncan Jones’ Warcraft. Will you be part of “The Horde” or “The Alliance”? Well, I always played as “The Horde” when I used to play~ Orcs are just more interesting, yo! Besides that, we have some promo images of  Robert Kazinsky  (not that you can recognize him with all the CGI) as Orgrim, Dominic Cooper As King Llane. Also, some info of the cast and their respective characters, with Travis Fimmel as Lothar the one human character I am interested the most~

Despite rumors of him being considered for Doctor Strange, now they say Jared Leto is eyeing the role of Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad movie. Ryan Gosling was conisdered before but dude was “unwilling to sign a deal with options for multiple movies”. Leto also made vague suggestions about the possibility of the role in a recent interview~

I do [have my eye on one project]. I am excited about what’s happening. There are incredible opportunities and I’m very grateful for them. I’m looking forward to making films again now that the tour is wrapping up. It’s going to be an exciting 2015. […] I’ve sworn to keep my mouth shut but I think that very shortly there will be something to talk about, that’s for sure.

So, ABC is going to make a modern take on Louisa May Alcott’s classic Little Women. Not sure how this story will take to a modern adaptation. But I will sure give it a shot!

The new take follows the lives of four sisters — coming of age against the backdrop of a military scandal as their family loses its fortune and position — who find themselves at odds with the conservative and traditional society in which they live.

Finally, I mentioned on facebook that there will be an Attack On Titan/Marvel Universe crossover available on Japan. And now we have more details on that one. It will appear on November 15 in the next issue of the Japanese pop-culture magazine Brutus.  The “What If?” comic will show the Avengers fighting the 46-foot-tall Female Titan on New York City. And Attack on Titan mangaka Hajime Isayama illustrated the magazine’s cover, as well as a special Titan sticker.

And that it’s for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Tilda Swinton (5), Famke Janssen (5), Susan Downey (6), Sally Field (6), Rebecca Romijn (6) and Emma Stone (6). Such a lovely group of ladies!
