The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Pokémon in the Real World!

THURSDAY

Tom Hiddleston shared the first clip of I Saw The Light on his twitter. I already shared it on the facebook page, but I shall share it again. Because it’s my column and I do what I want. Hiddles doesn’t sound half bad, even if needs more “twang”.

New Captain Marvel rumor! Now Rebecca Ferguson is up for the titular role! Guess her kick-assery on Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation could pay off… if she wants to be part of the MCU of course. OK, Katheryn Winnick from Vikings is still my favourite, but I wouldn’t mind. Still, I guess every time we see an actress kicking ass onscreen there will be Captain Marvel rumors, until we officionally get a name~

All episodes of Marvel’s Jessica Jones will be available on Netflix on November 20th! Here’s the announcement:

Here are new leaked images of Nightcrawler, Cyclops and Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse. Also a picture of Archangel and Psylocke… and their stunt doubles! Finally, here’s a way better look of En Sabah Nur a.k.a. Apocalypse. I mean, sure, it’s a shitty capture, but it looks way better than the purple mess we have seen in magazine covers and other stills!

According to Deadline, Legendary is moving Kong: Skull Island from Universal to Warner Brothers “to unite the property with Legendary’s other giant franchise, Godzilla. Well, I guess that’s happening.

Nintendo’s “Pokemon Go” promises Pokemon In The Real World. And the video gave us all Generation 1 Pokémon feels, specially the Newtwo battle at the end… and it also made me laugh that most players are young adults, lol, Nintendo knows their target audience so well! Also, I’ve been having fun with all the memes happening here my country about it~

So yep, this fantastic looking mobile game will encourage us to search far and wide in the real world to discover Pokémon. And that could be troublesome. But that’s my paranoia and laziness talking. Right? Pokemon GO will be available for download at no charge on the App Store and Google Play in 2016.

FRIDAY

Rumor has it that Sean Bean and Eva Green could be in Wonder Woman… as villains! Sean Bean is being considered for Ares, The God of War; and Eva Green for Circe The Sorceress. Does that mean Ares dies in the film? I mean, this is Sean Bean we are talking about!

Here’s the first look at Hawkman and Hawkgirl on CW’s Legends of Tomorrow. I have mixed feelings. I mean, they look good… if they were good but not great cosplayers.

Elizabeth Olsen talked about Captain America: Civil War, where she spoiled a bit as she praised Daniel Brühl as the “main villain”, and low-key shaded Avengers: Age of Ultron~

It’s a movie about people, as opposed to robots this time. So it’s darker and it’s allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans rather than machines.

In comicbook news, Mary Jane Watson will appear as a regular cast member in Invincible Iron Man from issue #4 onwards. At least, MJ will have things to do! And, at least, in the art, she has no time for Tony Stark’s BS. But whose idea this was? Brian Michael Bendis. Of course. What does he has to say for himself?

They know each other. She used to live in Avengers Tower. But that’s all I’m going to say for now because what kind of relationship they end up having is a big part of what I would like people to buy the book for. But what I can tell you is that it is new territory for both Tony and Mary Jane. And that is pretty exciting to write.

Finally, Marvel Television also showed what they will bring to New York Comic Con 2015. First we have their animated series: the new episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man: Web-Warriors and the brand-new Guardians of the Galaxy. Then we will get first look of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 and new details Agent Carter Season 2. And of course, their Neflix series will also be there, with the cast of Jessica Jones appearing on stage together for the first time, and more info on Daredevil Season 2 as well as and a look back on Season 1.

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Michael Keaton, Naomie Harris, Idris Elba, Martin Freeman, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth.
