The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Plotlines from Tumblr!

WEDNESDAY

So, Clark Gregg promised “The Magical Place” will satisfy in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.~

People have been patient in really wanting to know the true nature of the secrets… We’re going to get a big fat window at the real truth, and it’s going to be very, very surprising. When I read the sequence, I just stopped and put the script down and went ‘Wow. That was worth waiting for.

But, did it deliver? Well, the images were quite creepy indeed, even if it’s still not known why it happened~ Man, Tahiti sucks!

Kevin Feige said that the inclusion of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch on The Avengers: Age of Ultron goes with the flow, and it totally doesn’t come out of nowhere. Just so you know~

What Joss [Whedon] has in mind to bring those characters into the story happens in a very natural fashion over the course of the story. It’s also the tradition of the Avengers to switch up the roster every now and again and to have new characters coming in. It’s just part of the fun, but we wouldn’t have included them if it had just been a case of ‘Oh, we want two new figures, two new costumes.’ It very much flows with the story that Joss is creating.

On more MCU news, James Gunn talked about what’s really important in Guardians of the Galaxy: Rocket Raccoon~

He is most representative of the Guardians in the fact that he’s this little mangled beast that was taken and experimented on and torn apart and put back together, and we have to feel that character’s soul. If we see his plight, and see why he’s such an angry little guy, then the movie will work.

So, Bryan Singer has been talking to EW about X-Men: Apocalypse, where he writes and produces, even if his helming skills are still being negotiated. As for the movie itself, it will definitely have some conection to X-Men: Days of Future Past, and he also talked a bit what the movie is about:

Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie. […] It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.

Today, the last issue of Young Avengers was published. I will miss you guys and I will wait until the next volumen! Here’s a preview, and at least I’ll still have Loki: Agent of Asgard to look forward to. Also, here’s a nice spoilery article about how this issue reveals that nobody is actually straight in that team~

Now, for something different, Matt Reeves is totally going to direct the third Planet of the Apes movie! Apparently the screenings of the rough cut have been great, since almost as soon as those were announced, Fox was hiring Reeves. The director will also co-write the next Planet of the Apes film with Mark Bomback, who did revisions on the original Dawn of the Planet of the Apes draft.

On the TV side of things, Robert Kirkman said to TV Guide that The Walking Dead will be more optimistic… somehow.

We started the season pretty hopeful and pretty optimistic. We’ll open our last half of the season pretty bleak and we’ll move them to something a little more hopeful by the end.

Yay for first images of both Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain (you know, the sci-fi vampire book and now series), and the Fargo miniseries with Martin Freeman (and obviously co-produced by The Coen Brothers)

And we finally have some info on the new 10-episode Netflix series, Sense8… by Andy and Lana Wachowski!

The sci-fi drama will focus on eight people scattered around the globe who are connected by a shared — violent — vision. (Because it’s never a vision of kittens, is it?) Each episode — shot in the UK, Seoul, Mumbai, Nairobi, Berlin, Mexico City, San Francisco and Chicago — will follow the characters’ separate stories, even as one entity tries to bring the octet together and another tries to kill them.

Yeah, that sounds just about right! And the (as yet uncast) regulars seem quite interesting what with “a closeted Mexican telenovela hunk, an Icelandic party girl, a German safe-cracker, a Korean businesswoman, an African bus driver and a transgender American blogger”.

And here we have some awesome images of the LEGO’s The Simpsons House… and I just might cry. Curse my poverty!

Oh yeah, Fox will also air a special LEGO episode of The Simpsons in May 2014, where all of Springfielf will be in LEGO form. Because they just want to hear me squee apparently!
