The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Oh what a night!

MONDAY

Emmy Awards night! And Benedict Cumberbatch finally won something for Sherlock! Sadly, Bad Luck Benny was not there to receive his Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie award. Neither was Martin Freeman to get his supporting actor award. Steve Moffat was there to receive his for writing though! Damn, that Troll King is going to be unbearable now~ Another TV series that had a great time awards wise was Breaking Bad. Here’s a recap of the show.

Oh yes, because Moffat can keep things alone, he had to talk about Sherlock backstage, and said they had a “devastating” plot for the next series. Bastard!

We have a plan to top it. And I do think our plan is devastating. We’ve practically reduced our cast to tears telling them the plan … we’re probably more excited that we’ve ever been about Sherlock.

On also great news for Moffat, Doctor Who had great ratings in US too! It got 2.6 million viewers, including its first two replays. Which is a record, but obviously not as much as the ratings in UK~

Empire Magazine showed us the first decent image of Hawkeye’s new suit for Avengers: Age of Ultron! Jeremy Renner looks small besides Joss Whedon. LOL. Here’s also the official (not scanned) image and a couple more with Science Bros Tony Stark and Bruce Banner and actual bros (siblings) Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch~

Remember that standoff between Disney/Marvel and Warner/DC for the May 6th, 2016? Well, Joe Russo, one of the directord of Captain America 3, talked about how that movie and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice releasing the same day weren’t gonna happen ever~

We knew when they announced that it was somewhat of a placeholder, that it was a game of chicken to see if Marvel really had a film that was going to land on that date or not. We knew it was never going to happen. We knew those two films would never stay on that date. So we knew somebody was going to move.

Latino Review shared parts of the Empire Magazine interview with Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. It was, of course, about the Marvel/Netflix productions. There was talk about they are “gritty crime stories, more in the streets than in the clouds”. And that there has been talk about The Defenders joining The Avengers. But the four productions will definitely interconnect, so yay!

Marvel celebrates its 75th Anniversary this October, and part of the celebrations include Deadpool 75th Anniversary Variants, which is Deadpool photobombing iconic Marvel cover recreations~ Here’s a comparison with the original Uncanny X-Men #138 cover and the Deadpool one:
