In Disney is making another live-action adaptation of a classic animated film news, The Little Mermaid has been announced! We have yet to know who is directing, writing, or starring in the film, but we do know Hamilton creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, will be co-writing music with Alan Menken and co-producing the film itself with Marc Platt. Not sure if we need more songs since the ones The Little Mermaid already had were perfect, but if they can make space for more, fine by me. And no, this is not the same movie as the one with Chloe Moretz. That one is from Universal.
Disney is also making The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Yes, it is a live-action adaptation of The Nutcracker. And Keira Knightley will be there as the Sugar Plum Fairy! Mackenzie Foy will play Clara, with Misty Copeland and Morgan Freeman also attached to the movie. The film is titled . In the pic, one of Clara’s Christmas toys — a Nutcracker doll — comes to life and battles the evil Mouse King with seven heads.
According to Variety, Ray Fisher as Cyborg has been confirmed to appear in The Flash movie, which is expected to come out in 2018. Cyborg is slated to come out in 2020

Pottermore Presents is a new eBook series that celebrates Hogwarts. These books give us a sort of history of Hogwarts (totally not Hogwarts, A History though!), starting with Hogwarts – An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide, which “dives into the nooks and crannies of the beloved wizarding school itself”. Then we explore the darker side of the wizarding world with Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists. And finally, “the colourful staff of Hogwarts” is celebrated in Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies. The three eBooks will be released on 6 September in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish (yay!).
Well, seems that Marvel won’t remain faithful to Netflix! Hulu has ordered a pilot for a Marvel’s Runaways series from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, both co-creators of The CW’s Gossip Girl! The hope is that this might lead to a larger, full-season deal. The show is based on the Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona comic focused on six teenagers who discover their parents are villains and go on the run. Here’s what seems to be the first poster of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The poster was apparently discovered at the Magic Las Vegas trade show. Kid seems to be wearing the same costume he wore in Captain America: Civil War, but he has the sweet new set of webslingers he received from Tony Stark.
OMG! Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar return to their 1960s Batman roots for the animated Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders film. Yep, they are back to their roles with West as Batma, Ward as Robin and Newmar as Catwoman. It will be released for Digital HD on October 11 and Blu-Ray on November 1.
Here’s a thing of ultimate beauty! The “Middle-Earth Limited Collector’s Edition” with all three movies from The Lord of the Rings, and all three movies from The Hobbit! And it features 30 Blu-ray discs of footage: Extended cuts of An Unexpected Journey, Desolation of Smaug, Battle of the Five Armies, Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, and Return of the King, and all of the previously released and extensive behind-the-scenes documentaries that were included in past extended edition releases. On top of that, each movie is wrapped up in its own faux-leather-wrapped book case, and it comes with a recreation of the Red Book of Westmarch—the book Bilbo and Frodo “wrote” The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings in—filled with pages of official concept art!
