The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Morpheus Reloaded

TUESDAY

Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca’s awesome 25-issue Darth Vader comicbook has ended… but now we have a new series starting with a brand new #1 on June with a storyline that could probably be referred to as “Darth Vader: Year One”. Darth Vader #1 will explore the iconic character’s origins, beginning shortly after his fall at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Talking about Darth Vader, did you know that final epic scene in Rogue One almost didn’t happen? And the world would have been less cool for that. Here’s what director Gareth Edwards said:

He arrives and obliterates the Calamari ship, and then the blockade runner gets out just in time and he pursues the blockade runner. […] Jabez [Olssen, editor on the film] was like, ‘I think we need to get Darth on that ship, and I thought, yeah, that’s a brilliant idea and would love to do it. But there’s no way they’re going to let us do it. It’s a big number and we had, what, like 3 or 4 months before release. Kathy [Kennedy] came in and Jabez thought, f*ck it, and pitched her this idea, and she loved it. Suddenly within a week or two we were at Pinewood shooting that scene.

MIT ain’t above using fictional students to make an awesome admissions video. So yep, on Pi Day, MIT students launched a fan film that is basically a two-minute trailer for the new Iron Man with Riri Williams a.k.a. Ironheart:

WEDNESDAY

There’s nothing official yet, but according to some reports, The Batman will begin production in 2018… possibly because of Matt Reeves’ Planet Of The Apes schedule. Some others reports implied The Batman is being rewritten from scratch tho… and what does that mean for Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke as the main villain.

One production that is totally confirmed this year is the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. They will start filming this August in Paris and UK. In this one, Grindelwald will make his presence felt more, so lots of Johnny Depp… and I guess the guy who ends up cast as a young Dumbledore.

Also, we are getting Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, according to James Gunn. He also ain’t confirming if he’s going to be the one to direct it.

We are getting Legion season 2! Well, it was to be expected, Legion has been a hit with the critics and the public, and it almost gets better with each episode! Hope season 2 is even better~

Habemus trailer for American Gods! And it looks great! No Gillian Anderson tho, even if Kristin Chenoweth looks amazing! The series premieres April 30 on Starz.

A recently released ex-convict named Shadow meets a mysterious man who calls himself “Wednesday” and who knows more than he first seems to about Shadow’s life and past.
