The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Justice Will Prevail!

TUESDAY

Joe Manganiello, who will play the villain Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s The Batman, talked about the film:

His take is a fresh take but I think the audience is going to be surprised. Because it’s a road that no one’s really gone down that’s completely integral to, you know, who Batman is. And I think it’s gonna be refreshing but at the same time completely familiar. But it’s going to take this franchise in a direction that I think A LOT of people are going to be really happy about. It’s going to be gritty and action packed and cerebral and all of those elements that people love about Batman.

Doctor Strange is getting a prequel manga coming this month! Yep, In Doctor Strange: Episode 0, we will meet Dr. Stephen Strange before he was learned the mystical arts. Apparently it will be about his early years as a revered neurosurgeon in New York City. So lab coat wearing Strange, even if the teaser art has him wearing all his sorcerer regalia. The one-shot manga will be published on November 22 in freaking Weekly Shonen Magazine and will be illustrated by artist Haruichi.

Talking about Doctor Strange, Marvel’s Big Boss, Kevin Feige, explains how all this Infinity Stones business will get personal for him and Vision in Avengers Infinity War for obvious reasons. Feige just loves The Drama~

So the notion that something is inherent in the literal body of one of your lead heroes is interesting. And the idea that the Eye of Agamotto’s a great relic over the course of Doctor Strange comics anyway. That seemed like it had fun potential to say, you know why it can do a lot of those things? Because it’s this other thing. As we then get into future movies, it also becomes certainly ripe with potential for conflict and drama that it’s not something buried in a cave it’s something he has to go get, but rather something in a beloved hero’s head.

WEDNESDAY

Yay! J. Scott Campbell’s Riri Williams sketch is now a variant cover for Invincible Iron Man #2! I love it when good thing are rewarded. The cover is available in both color and black and white editions, but I gotta say that I liked the fan coloured version better tho. Sorry not sorry!
