The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: It’s time to play the music

THURSDAY

Robert Downey Jr. will receive an MTV Generation Award because he’s just that awesome. The award will be presented by fellow Avengers Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner. The 2015 MTV Movie Awards will air on April 12. And I am kinda glad they keep giving me excuses to actually watch the award show.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer will finally premiere, and will do so with Mad Max: Fury Road on May 15th.

George R.R. Martin is a liar who said there would be no more chapters released online of his new book, The Winds of Winter. Not that I mind being lied to in this instance but still. The chapter is titled “Alayne”, which means it’s about Sansa Stark, who has been posing as Littlefinger’s bastard daughter Alayne Stone. You can read the new chapter in here.

FRIDAY

ABC want to revive The Muppet Show! In May, there will be a pilot presentation written by The Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady. If they likes what they see, ABC could give a straight-to-series order. The presentation will be filmed next weekend on the Disney lot in Burbank, and some of the original Muppet performers will be there. So yeah, it seems the idea behind the revival is that it will also be comedy-variety series featuring celebrity cameos. And possibly some new characters. Color me excited!

In more great news, Sony Pictures Classics acquired I Saw the Light! You know, the Hank Williams biopic starring real life Disney Prince Tom Hiddleston~ This makes me happy because it means I will probably get to see it on the theaters so yay!

Here we have two new action-packed trailers for Daredevil! We have “Fear” and “Origins”:

Finally, here’s Neil Gaiman talking about how he traumatized his eldest daughter, because that’s what parents are for~

When she was 11 or 12 Holly came home from school clutching a Goosebumps book by R.L. Stine. She loved the Goosebumps books. I did what I thought was the correct thing, and said “if you like these then you’ll love this…” and I went and got a copy of Stephen King’s Carrie for her. Well, she didn’t like it, not at all. And that was it for Holly and horror. After that she tended to read books with happy people on prairies.

Personally, I think it’s better when you discover Stephen King by yourself as a child, then you have nobody else to blame but yourself.

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Nick Frost, Lucy Lawless, Christopher Walken, Ewan McGregor, Clark Gregg, Michael Fassbender, Matthew Goode and Cobie Smulders.
