The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Indominus Box Office!

THURSDAY

Here are a couple of new Ant-Man posters! One from UK and another where the regular Marvel graphic designer is back~

Rosario Dawson talked about Daredevil Season 2, her role in it, and the inclusion of The Punisher, which is bound to complicate things for Daredevil and maybe show some perspective~

That’s going to raise the stakes so much more, because Matt Murdock almost behaves like the Punisher in the first season. [Matt] crosses the line quite often, so it’s going to be really interesting to see how they differentiate them and where that goes.

Seems like Matthew Vaughn has not forgotten about his plans for a Hit-Girl movie and maybe a Kick-Ass 3 film.

We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy…If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn’t like Kick-Ass 2 and then we can go off and make Kick-Ass 3.

Well, Hit-Girl as a prequel is logical because Chloë Moretz ain’t a little girl anymore. But could we get Nicholas Cage again, please?

Ron Perlman still wants a Hellboy 3 movie, but he won’t do a crowdfund for it. Can’t expect for just fanboys to carry the cost of that kind of production on their shoulders~

I wouldn’t want to be involved in crowdfunding. I don’t think it’s the fan’s job to fund a movie. I think it’s up to the people who do it professionally. I think it’s the fans job to sit back and buy popcorn and Coke and watch the movie and enjoy it.

The female Ghostbusters reboot has started production, and here are some possible plot details and a cameo… from Slimer! Look at this adorable picture coming from Paul Feig’s Twitter! Dude still wins the prize at Best Dressed Director!

Anyway, the plot seems close to the original one, right?

Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig will play unknown authors who publish a book asserting that ghosts are real. Their writing gains unwelcome attention a few years later, after Wiig lands a teaching position at Columbia University, and she’s soon laughed out of academia. The two later team with supernatural sleuths played by Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, and save the day when ghosts invade Manhattan.

FRIDAY

Just like with all Marvel movies, Ant-Man has a comic-book tie-in, and here’s a sneak peek of said tie-in called Ant-Man: Larger Than Life #1 where Ant-Man has a not-so-friendly encounter with a Bullet Ant!

Matt Damon talked about The Martian, and how is “totally f*cking different” from Interstellar or so director Ridley Scott said!

I went in to meet [Ridley Scott], then I signed on really quickly. I went in and I said, I really love this script, but my only hesitation is I’ve just done Interstellar, in which I played a dude stranded on a planet, it might be weird if, after taking a year and a half off, I played another dude stranded on a planet. I explained Interstellar to him, and he said ‘The movies are totally f***ing different, this is going to be f***ing fun. Let’s do this!’ He was so infectious, I couldn’t really say no to him.

Jessica Chastain also talked about The Martian, and particularly about her character as a woman and a superhero in a Sci-Fi film.

But when a female superhero–to me she is a superhero–her sexiness is not the most important thing about her, it’s her mind, her spirit, and when I look at that character, that to me is an example of characters that I like to play and I think it does a great thing for women.

Behold the first all-female Transformer combiner in history, and she also has a kick-ass name: Victorion! She’ll debut next month in IDW’s Transformers: Combiner Hunters one-shot comicbook. Here’s an interview with writer Mairghread Scott about her and the issues itself!

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Chris Evans, Kat Dennings, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Daniel Brühl, John Cho, Zoe Saldana, Hugh Dancy and Aidan Turner.
