The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Hooked an a feeling~

WEDNESDAY

Mark Wahlberg says he’d like to be Iron Man after RDJ. To which I say, no thanks~

I would like to take over the Iron Man franchise for Robert Downey, [but] it’s one of those things where I kind of like playing real people, [so] I’ve never been asked. Once I was kind of being talked about for the Robin role in ‘Batman [Forever] — somebody dodged a bullet!

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has doing the rounds talking about Kick-Ass 2, but of course he also gets asked about the possibility of being Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Nothing is written in stone yet, but he’d sure love to do it!

It’s all in discussion and in a friendly way as well, you know, I’ve met with Joss Whedon now twice and we spoke about it a lot and I’ve been with the Marvel guys and they’re [frick]ing awesome dudes, so I am flattered to be asked to be a part of The Avengers, who wouldn’t? But more importantly to me, I have to know if I can convey that character in the right way because that’s what it comes down to. So that’s all for now really, they still have loads of other characters and actors to make sure they can schedule and stuff. I’d [frick]ing love to do it.

Director Alan Taylor also talks about the balance of sci-fi and fantasy in Thor: The Dark World. That is indeed one of the few franchises that could be called both!

One of my favorite lines in the first movie was [when] Thor says to Jane ‘there’s magic and there’s science and I come from a land where they’re one in the same.’ It’s a great way of [explaining] that challenge [of balancing science fiction]. And it means the movie lives in a kind of middle ground – we have spaceships, we have laser guns, we have interplanetary travel. We also have horses, swords, and castles. If you get that wrong the whole falls apart and you laugh. If you get it right, it has the power of both and becomes unique in a way.

The Wolverine co-writer Mark Bomback sure loves Rogue and her relationship with Logan, and was quite sad he couldn’t write her into the script.

It’s no accident to me that in the first X-Men film the first two mutants that you really see who have a connection are Wolverine and Rogue. There’s something special between them, so I was trying to bring Rogue into it, but it just didn’t get there. I regretted there wasn’t a way to figure it out, but when I look at the film now, it would have stuck out if we tried to shoehorn her in there just because it was another character from the universe.

THURSDAY

Happy Birthday, Jennifer Lawrence!

Today my country finally gets to watch Jurassic Park 3D, and in related new, here’s director Colin Trevorrow has to say about making Jurassic Park 4!

It’s important to make a movie for the fans but I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place and I want to make a movie for them too.

He sure seems like he wants to make it work, and I sure hope he does!

Apparently, Hiddles also has many LGBT fans and got a decent 39 position on TheBacklot.com 2013 Hot 100 list. He got a pretty long interview for that too. Actually, there were but a few questions, Hiddles just likes to talk and talk and talk. I specially love when he talks about Shakespeare, and now we know it was not a love at first sight, but an acquired taste. Once he fell though, he fell hard! I also love that he loved Kenneth Branagh’s Much Ado About Nothing and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet.

Cobie Smulders totally teases that we’ll see another side of Maria Hill and Nick Fury’s relationship in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And she sure seems very enthusiastic about the possibility of coming back to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Gina Carano talks about the importance of getting Wonder Woman right! She’s got the looks to be her, sad she ain’t a better actress though.

That’s the ultimate superhero for a woman. No matter what, no matter who ends up being Wonder Woman someday, I just hope it’s something that is done correctly. I know it’s there and that it could definitely be done correctly. It’s just a matter of getting the right people and having the right vision come together. A director and producer and writer have to see the beauty in it and make it real.
