The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Great franchise news… that suck a bit

MONDAY

Danny’s got herself a nice place to sit, as you can see in this sneak peek of aforecoming episode of Game of Thrones. While it doesn’t look that comfortable (no support to your back!), it still looks more comfy than the Iron Throne~

And we have more news on the DC camp, it seems Warner Bros. currently has eleven different DC Comics adaptations in development (two of them being Superman vs Batman and Justice League). But you know what? None of those are Wonder Woman, yay! (that was sarcasm BTW). Yes, my dears, we are getting Shazam and Sandman before Wonder Woman. And don’t misunderstand me, I sure want to see Shazam and Sandman, but those comics sure as hell ain’t as iconic as freaking Wonder Woman dammit!

So Hugh Jackman was in WWE Raw sorta promoting X-Men: Days of Future Past~ Also, a wrestler (man, I need to catch up with the names of the new WWE superstars!) came in as Magneto. And it was a terrible cosplay. LOL.

Andrew Garfield talked about the chances of seeing Miles Morales in Spider-Man movies. He believes is likely and also likes the idea of it. So yay!

Miles Morales was a huge moment in this character’s comic book life. And I do believe that we can do that. It’s something I’m really interested in figuring out; an eloquent way of coexisting, or passing on the torch. I don’t have an answer, but I think it’s actually a really important move. I think it’s a really beautiful and important move.

Once upon a time (2003 to be exact), David Tennant and Benedict Cumberbatch appeared in the Radio 4 adaptation of Mansfield Park. And now, it will be dug out of the archive to mark 200 years since the original publication of said Jane Austen novel. So yep, mark the calendar because the ten-episode drama will begin airing at 2:00pm on Radio 4 Extra Monday 12 May!

TUESDAY

Star Wars Episode VII cast has been officially announced! And I hope there are some more to come because that’s a lot of white dudes! At least, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley are giving some variety there! Also, hi Andy Serkis! Would you be doing mo-cap again? Other new cast members include Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow, who will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

On more Star Wars related news, we got new stills of Star Wars Rebels, and the news that their first trailer will be seen on “Star Wars Day” (that’s May the 4th for those who don’t know).

Stan Lee will be on Guardians of the Galaxy after all! He told us before he wouldn’t be there, ’cause he didn’t creat the group. He did help creat Groot though! Maybe that’s why he ended up in the movie after all! Here’s a vague description of his cameo.

I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl — a very pretty girl — that’s all I can tell you.
