The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Full of marvelous feels

THURSDAY

OMG! Saw Iron Man 3 and it was so awesome! Not as awesome as The Avengers, but very very awesome!

Also, after watching the movie, I get what Gwynneth Paltrow says, but she didn’t have to be so casual about it!

I don’t think there’s going to be [an Iron Man 4]. I think we’re done with Iron Man.

Joss Whedon is a horrible tease and makes us think Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch could be Avengers 2.

I’ve got these two characters, two of my favorite characters from the comic books, a brother/sister act. They’re in the movie, that’s exciting.

I mean, sure, he doesn’t name them but it’s the first that comes to mind! And while they are mutants and belong to the X-Men universe, and so belong to Fox, they are also Avengers too, so they could belong to Disney! Apparently, “whichever studio gets to them first gets them, in the most high-profile case of “dibs” in recent memory.”

Hayley Atwell may just appear in flashback scenes in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but she promises to kick-ass in them!

I’ve been working with some stunt coordinators – I get three separate fight scenes. The training has been really tough because not only are you learning the moves, you’re also learning the power of the punch so it doesn’t look like you have spaghetti arms. On my first day, they said: “It’s going really well but you don’t have to add your own sound effects…”

She will also experience geekness first hand since she’ll be attendind the San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Scarlett Johansson is in final negotiations to star in the new Luc Besson’s action-thriller called Lucy! The movie sounds very weird… in a cool way~

[Lucy] centers on a woman forced to become a drug mule. But the drug instead goes into her system, transforming her into an ass-kicking machine. She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can’t feel pain and other discomforts.

FRIDAY

Yes! A thousand times yes! Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive with lovely Tilda and Hiddles will be in competition at Cannes Film Festival! You were worrying me for a minute, guys!

Zack Snyder talks about Man of Steel. First saying this is a serious movie, you guys!

It’s the most realistic movie I’ve made. There’s no tongue in anyone’s cheek. I’m not apologizing for Superman in any way. I’m saying, ‘Superman is a thing that must be taken seriously and embraced and understood.

And then praising his leading man~

God, he’s so Supermanish it’s crazy! There was a telling moment – we put him in the Christopher Reeve costume, because we didn’t have a suit yet, we just had the old spandex suit. He stepped out of the trailer and no one laughed. It’s the difference between being Superman and dressing up like Superman. If I’m dressed up like Superman it’s like a Halloween costume. If you’re Henry it’s your clothes. It’s awesome. Watch the movie and you’re like ‘Holy shit, that’s Superman.’ And it’s not weird or crazy, it’s just cool.

Yep, looks pretty Supermanish to me!

Don Cheadle talks about the possibility of a War Machine spin-off, and what could be about:

When we have talked about the [War Machine] spin-off, what the departure point might be for War Machine… [we’ve discussed that] it might be when he goes rogue, so to speak, and takes a mission that he believes he is morally responsible for but is against policy and does it anyway.

Jaimie Alexander on the subject of her character Sif and her relationship with Natalie Portman’s Jane in Thor: The Dark World.

I think [Sif]’s really, more than seeing Jane as a threat to somebody that she loves in a love triangle way, it’s more that Jane could be a threat to her people. And Sif is very protective of her fellow Asgardians and the throne and that sort of thing, so she’s quite wary of Jane. But also, she really, really loves Thor — as a comrade, as a warrior and as the future king of Asgard — but also as a man.

Clark Gregg keeps talking about his Coulson feels now that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. awaits for ABC’s final answer. Also, how did he survive? Apparently Nick Fury faked his dead! And poor Coulson was forced to say nothing about it and was moved to a remote location! Apparently all that is explained in the pilot. But… how did he actually survived being “speared” (sceptered?) through the chest?

Finally, Benedict Cumberbatch has been confirmed as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness. John Harrison was an alias… and damn I can already hear the rage of some old fans, specially those who don’t care about white-washing. I mean, I am totally sure Benedict Cumberbatch does an excellent job of it, but he certainly doesn’t look like a Khan Noonien Singh. Also, Alien Posh Prince gets a biography (bit too soon) and does the audio trailer of a BAFTA-nominated game called The Nightjar.

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, let’s wish Happy Birthday to Andy Serkis, David Tennant and Jack Nicholson!

@Diandra Rodriguez, Yeah, that Tilda was into k-pop was a total surprise for me too xD Now, I wonder what (or rather who) exactly she likes!
As for the others my mixed feelings of American manga adaptations attack…
And is it too much to ask that Fox and Disney joing forces to do a House of M movie?
