The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: From basement to mainstream

MONDAY

So movie rights aside, there are some people who will want a The Avengers/X-Men crossover. One of those is X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner [1]:

I would love it. I would love it. I personally have close ties to Marvel because of Kevin Feige, because Kevin worked for me. But to take our characters and mingle them in the way that they were written, yeah, absolutely.

I love the enthusiasm already! Get to it, boys!

Anyway, there’s gonna be a new Iron Man anime, a direct-to-video movie this time. The name is Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore and will be produced by Madhouse. We’ll also get Marvel characters such as Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nicky Fury and even The Punisher… who needs a haircut.

Also, Deadpool gets memetic on All-New X-Men #1 and Avengers #1 covers. My favourite is, of course, the Oppa Deadpool Style!

Getting in touch with the Halloween feel, we’ll get a Toy Story of Terror television special next year. Guess Pixar wants in on Dreamworks holiday special turf. Here’s the synopsis:

What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.

In more Pixar news, Monsters University gets a fictional college website and it’s awesome! There’s background info, links to campus news articles, a working campus store and a campus map!

Ok, Stephen Amell, protagonist of CW’s Arrow shows off his strength and flexibility, with beautiful background music~

Closer looks at Robocop‘s armor makes it look less silly. It still doesn’t look like Robocop, but I guess I can deal.

Finally, news about my favourite, Tom Hiddleston! Here’s an article that names him a style icon. There’s talk about his formal clothes and the casual ones… and no one comments that besides the suits, Hiddles seems to have a kind of a limited wardrobe, which somehow makes him more endearing.

So Benedict Cumberbatch is doing a charity cycle over the weekend and he raised a decent amount of cash, and that’s why he sent a massive email to all those who donated.

You have been so generous with your pockets, now be generous with a bit more of your time and I promise you it will be worth it. If we go over the target in the next two days I will, tart that i am, share some photos with you of me in training in my fetching cycling gear!

Yes, the Cumbertart will show his lycras for a good cause.

Also, Parade’s End was released today on DVD. Here’s the trailer to remind you how pretty it was:

O.O CHARLIE BROWN ON THE BIG SCREEN?!?!?! Oh my god, if they fuck this up, my childhood will officially be RUNED!!! RUNED I SAY!!!!

That’s pretty much all I could process. I was going alone, enjoying the fangirliness, and THAT THING HIT ME IN THE FACE!!!! *sigh* I really… REALLY hope it’s not some CGI nightmare (like TMNT and The Smurfs… but it probably will be and my heart is breaking just thinking about it.

Hollywood, PLEASE don’t make me hate you more than I already do… PLEASE!

      @Camiele, well, while the TMNT movie wasn’t that good, I am digging the Nickelodeon show! That said, I want a Charlie Brown movie like the other Charlie Brown movies ;A;

You should review Parade’s End and sell us on watching it.

    I can’t wait for Skyfall.

I’ve seen Amell on Hung before, but I’m not sure about watching Arrow yet. I think I’ll wait for it to air on Warner Channel. My biggest fear is a show that eventually becomes like Smallville.

Not a big fan of the Peanuts franchise, but I’d wait for a trailer to see if it grabs my interest.

  3. aw that P.S. scene should have been included! I really like all of the Pond-Williams-Song family but Amy and Rory’s departure scene left me cold. and I’m not even a hater!

Apparently… I’m so 50/50 on my liking of controversial looks. LOL

And you know why The Munsters looks like that, because it’s Bryan Fuller. It totally looks like Pushing Daisies 2.0 only without the magic.

And YUCK at those Jurassic Park concept sketches. >,<
