The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Empowering tomorrow’s superheroes~

TUESDAY

Do you know that adult Harry Potter fans (with money) can now have a Christmas Dinner in Hogwarts’ Great Hall!? For only £230 you’ll get Yuletide Child-free Awesomeness for Harry Potter geeks! Yes, the experience if  only for people over 18~ We are talking about the Warner Brother Studio Tour in UK here, not the Universal Studios version. So yes, these are the actual sets and props from the films, not recreations. The Christmas Dinner is on December 3rd tho, just in case you still wanted to spend the actual holiday with family

Here’s a trailer for Edgar Allan Poe animated anthology Extraordinary Tales!

The five stories that get to be animated in different styles are “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Pit and the Pendulum”, “The Fall of the House of Usher”, “The Masque of Red Death” and “The Facts in the Case of Mr. Valdemar”. Also, to make you even more excited, the stories will be narrated by people like Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee and Guillermo del Toro. Extraordinary Tales will be released in theaters and On Demand, which is great since I am sure as hell it won’t release in any theater near me!

There’s gonna be an Enchanted sequel and will be called… Disenchanted. Disenchanted?! Who the hell invited Bansky to write it!? Is this a direct sequel? Or is this gonna be the story of when random Prince Charming and a random Disney Princess get divorced? I can get behind the second one, because I don’t want anything bad happen to Giselle!

Apparently Colin Firth’s character’s death in Kingsman: The Secret Service were greatly exaggerated. What? Were all those fics I read after the fact real?! Well, Mark Millar, who wrote the original comic, talked once more:

That’s the conversation everyone’s having right now, because part of what made that movie work is Colin. Colin’s fantastic, it was a two-hander, that film. You also want to have the integrity of the story, so if you are bringing him back, it has to make sense. That’s where it is at at the moment. Beats of the story have been done. Matthew [Vaughn] and [co-screenwriter] Jane [Goldman] are working on it at the moment. Some things have to be worked out, some decisions have still to be made and everything, so it’s all fairly amorphous, but all going well.

WEDNESDAY

Here’s the final poster of Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, and damn does it have awkward posing or what?

On the other hand, these three new posters for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur have acceptable posing. I am still not sure about the cartoony designs for the dinosaurs compared to everything else tho!

On more Disney news, Civil War will indeed mark the end of a finite Captain America movie trilogy. And according to Kevin Feige, “it’ll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character”. OK, I expected this movie will be the last on this particular MCU franchise, just as I expect Thor: Ragnarok will be the last on that particular MCU franchise. That doesn’t necessarily mean they will kill Cap though! Dude still has to appear in the Infinity War movies, right?!

Talking about those movies, they will be the end of the Avengers as we know it. I expect the MCU will keep evolving into something new and at least will try to keep things fresh using the characters they still have the rights for. And it’s not like the roster of the Avengers’ team is static in the comics!

Anyway, here’s a new promo for Marvel’s (and Netflix’s) Jessica Jones! Homegirl still looks awesome as all hell walking through the aftermath of what seems to be a serious asskicking while “Bad Reputation” is heard on the background!

The day ended on a sad note, though. Pacific Rim 2 was officially removed from Universal Studios’ release calendar. It’s date, August 4, 2017, was replaced with Pitch Perfect 3. Well damn, who jinxed Guillermo del Toro? About half of the things we wants to make, get cancelled. But according to Universal’s official statement all hope is not lost. And the film may get done, someday.

The decision was made to delay the production and release of Pacific Rim 2 so that the creative team can continue in its efforts to exceed the amazing experience of the first film.
