The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Comicbook TV and back again~

Greetings, my fellow geeks! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting ready to premiere their second season in less than two weeks. But there’s also lots of news about other great-looking comicbook TV series we’ll get soon. And in a bit of a reversal, there’s also a TV series that will get its own comicbook! But before that, here’s how the week started:

SATURDAY

After a very fun (yet a bit plot-hole ridden) Doctor Who episode, here’s the promo of the fourth one of Series 8, “Listen”, which looks rather creepy~

Anyway, here’s Mark Gatiss talking about “Robot of Sherwood”, since he wrote it~ Whatever issues I may have had with the episode, if was fun and cute and poignant so I agree with Gatiss’ words:

The important thing to me is to have variety. Peter’s whole take is darker, it’s trickier, it’s less human than David [Tennant] and Matt, which is wonderful. But Peter is a funny actor. You put him being grumpy, dour next to Robin Hood laughing his head off and it’s extremely funny. It’s definitely a more light-hearted adventure, but it’s also quite moving because it’s questions asks about the nature of heroism.

Chris Evans talked with ascended fanboy Josh Horowitz about, among other things, having to eventually give up the shield to another Marvel character. But in the MCU, would it be Sam or Bucky?

Who’s handing off the shield? Don’t take my job from me prematurely dude. I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character.

Yep, Guardians of the Galaxy has become the Marvel movie with more No. 1 spots ever with a grand total of four. Congrats, you bunch of a-holes! I don’t care if it’s because this month the movies have not been fab enough to take the win from them. Nobody can take that from them! Nobody!

SUNDAY

As usual, Tom Hiddleston likes to do some research when he takes on a role. Now that he will become country legend Hank William in the biopic I Saw The Light, Hiddles had the great idea to play at the Wheatland Music Festival this weekend. Except for the parts where his accent was quite notorious, he ain’t doing bad at all! Keep the good work Hiddles! Here’s the official video of his presentation~

Jessica Chastain wants to be in a superhero movie, dudes! She could have been Black Widow but things didn’t work out. They also didn’t work out when she could have been in Iron Man 3. Then again, considering what she wants, maybe it was for the best.

I would love to do a superhero movie! I would have loved to have played Black Widow. A couple of times I’ve gotten really close. The problem is, if I do a superhero movie, I don’t want to be the girlfriend. I don’t want to be the daughter. I want to wear a fucking cool costume with a scar on my face, with fight scenes. That’s what I’d love.

So who could she play? Don’t know about the facial scars but could she be Carol Danvers? Maybe Jessica Drew? (Those are Captain Marvel and Spider-Woman for the not-geeks). Maybe Medusa if Marvel actually makes that Inhumans movie! Yes, I am only mentioning Marvel roles. Don’t judge me!

You what time it ist? Time to talk about how great Guardians of the Galaxy is doing! Oh yes! They have beaten Man of Steel domestic box office, and have beaten Iron Man global box office! And it still hasn’t opened in China and Japan! Slay, my babies, slay!
