The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Be prepared!

THURSDAY

All news are about series! Starting with this adorable Superhero Fight Club 2.0 trailer. Yes, it is adorable because Supergirl is there. She’s badass, but also adorable. Anyway, the people from Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow is also there.

Misty Knight will totally appear in The Defenders! Simone Missick herself confirmed it during an interview with The Wrap. She also jokes about the possibility of losing her job for revealing that tidbit of information!

Talking about superheroes, kinda, there will be “no interim companion” for Doctor Who Christmas special, but there will be an appearance from a “superhero character”… whatever that means!

On sad news, Adventure Time is coming to an end in 2018. Then again, it will be it’s ninth season. It is time to let it go, in my opinion. Here’s what creator Pendleton Ward had to say:

Adventure Time was a passion project for the people on the crew who poured their heart into the art and stories. We tried to put into every episode something genuine and telling from our lives, and make a show that was personal to us, and that had jokes too! I’m really happy that it connected with an audience for so long. It’s a special thing, I think.

Thankfully, Entertainment Weekly was there to lift my spirit with our first look of Outlander season 3! We got a cover and pictures of the Battle of Culloden!

FRIDAY

Besides that teaser that managed to give me the feels, I’ve have not been impressed by any of the images revealed by the live-action Beauty and the Beast. And these new images are not the exception! I don’t like how either of the titular characters look, sorry to say. It’s so off-putting that it looks like a manip! I guess I hope it looks better in motion.

Seems Adventure Time wasn’t the only series that announced its eventual end. Archer creator Adam Reed revealed his intent to bring the practically cult series to an end in about three years.

The plan is to end Archer after season 10. I don’t know that anybody has talked about that, but that is definitely my plan—to do 8, 9, and 10 and they’re gonna be each shorter seasons of just eight episodes, and then wind it up.…I was gonna end it after 8, but then I had sort of a brain explosion of a way that I could do three more seasons and really keep my interest up. So the three seasons that are coming up are gonna be pretty different from what has come before, and they’re gonna be different from each other.

But hey, new series are always coming, and these are ones that might have potential! First, a TV spin-off  of What We Do In The ShadowsParanormal Event Response Unit will follow the film’s easily-manipulable police officers, Mike and Karen, as they try to keep Wellington safe from spooky beasties for six 30-minute episodes. Then, the director and writer of The Purge movies, James DeMonaco, said a television series was in development, which would have about 6 intervowen storylines with flashbacks and stuff. And then, Universal is developing Welcome to Hitchcocka new anthology series which would recruit “premiere” filmmakers to work on a single, season-long mystery done in the style of Alfred Hitchcock.

Here’s the first look of Trollhunters, Guillermo del Toro’s animated series eight years in the making. It is also one of Anton Yelchin’s final roles, as the main character, 15-year-old Jim.

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Mark Hamill, Will Smith, Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ezra Miller and Marion Cotillard.
