The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Be prepared!

TUESDAY

Kevin Feige talked a lot about Doctor Strange, starting with the difference between Scarlet Witch’s magic and Stephen Strange’s. Basically, she doesn’t have any training and so her powers are more chaotic; magic in Doctor Strange tho is all about focus, it’s organized and purposeful.

He also talked a bit why Wong ain’t a manservant, Baron Mordo aint’ a villain and name-drops Dormammu’s home withouth actually confirming if we will actually get to see Dormammu. Damn, Feige is good at giving non-answers!

On the DC side of things, Joe Manganiello is already doing research for his Deathstroke role in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie. Which basically mean he bought a bunch of toys, and the first volume of Batman: Earth One by Geoff Johns!

Check out Tom Felton’s first look in The Flash season 3, where we might or we might not have a Harry Potter reference. Also, his sudden appearance will be caused by the post-Flashpoint timeline, according to executive producer Todd Helbing.

He’s a direct result of Flashpoint. Barry’s had that lab to himself, but now he’s got to share it with this guy, who doesn’t really like him and is kind of prickly.

I love BBC Radio dramas, I love Neil Gaiman’s work. So Stardust as a radio adaptation is a win for me! Considering how good Neverwhere and Good Omens were, I am quite happy with this development!

WEDNESDAY

Director Jon Favreau will helm a live-action adaptation of The Lion King. And that left me perplexed. I mean, considering how good The Jungle Book was for Disney, I am not surprised they gave him this gig. What surprises me is… live-action? Wouldn’t it be motion capture CGI like The Jungle book? And considering there will be no humans, how is that live-action? Or are they going to be people in highly elaborate costumes like the Broadway musical?

In other Disney news, here are some more Doctor Strange stills as well as character posters for both the good guys and the bad guys. Also, an IMAX poster!

Tom Hiddleston got interviewed by Benedict Cumberbatch for Interview Magazine, but it was actually a conversation back from February (or at least I expect it considering Benny wished Happy Birthday to Hiddles) that was finally published! They also talked about their respective Marvel experiences, Tom as a returning (and beloved) cast member, and Benedict as the newest titular character in a Marvel movie. Hiddles also got a weird photoshoot out of it, that mostly looks like he got into safe for work fetish clothes. I know the interview was on the phone, and most likely wasn’t during the photoshoot, but I want to image he was wearing this while getting interviewed by Benedict:

In other news coming out (LOL) out of interviews: Greg Rucka, current writer for Wonder Woman, admitted she’s bisexual. Also, water is wet!

Now, are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women? As Nicola and I approach it, the answer is obviously yes. And it needs to be yes for a number of reasons. But perhaps foremost among them is, if no, then she leaves paradise only because of a potential romantic relationship with Steve [Trevor]. And that diminishes her character. It would hurt the character and take away her heroism.
