The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Back to the Force!

TUESDAY

From the creator of Loki’d and the infamous Slumber Party, we have Tom Hiddleston & Jessica Chastain throw the Worst Party Ever for Josh Horowitz. Tom is sensitive and never gets invited to parties. Jessica will shove her hand down Josh’s throat and snap his dick off if he hurts Tom. This guy Freddie is the hottest DJ in Slovenia. Same old, same old. Yeah, need more of them as this slightly psycho comedy duo! Also, Horowitz is one lucky mofo who gets to write real people fanfic and have them enact them. Lucky bastard.

As I mentioned already, the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was out yesterday and adorable cinnamon rolls Daisy Ridley and John Boyega recorded their reactions (and posted them online) as they saw the trailer for the first time~

Also, Star Wars: The Force Awakens shattered ticket sales records. Not only it took the record from The Hunger Games as the movie with most tickets sold in its first day, it outsold The Hunger Games eight times over! The Imax presales also broke a record, generating over $6.5 million, which is way more than the $1 million aprox from The Dark Knight Rises, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Avengers. Boycott Star Wars? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Could you now take that Avatar box office record please? Thanks!

Rumor has it that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice could end up being Hollywood’s most expensive movie to day. The budget, Latino-Review claims, has risen to $410 million! As of now, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is the most expensive movie ever, with total production costs adding up to $410.6 million. So yeah, BVS could surpass that figure.

WEDNESDAY

It’s Back to the Future Day day! The Future is Now! Here’s a recopilation of Doc and Marty’s shenanigans and how the media showed them love! But one of the things I loved the most was the beauty that was watching Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox donning their Back to the Future personas on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and it was lovely seeing Doc and Marty react to the real 2015~

In other good news, the Sherlock Special will be shown in cinemas around the world! And it damn better be in a cinema near me! This ‘global cinema event’ still doesn’t have the full roster of countries taking part, but it was revealed that China will totally be among them. Lucky bastards. I still have faith! After all, we did have the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, “The Day of the Doctor”, right?!

Chris Rock will host the Academy Awards again! I hope he goes for blood… again! After that not-so-good ceremony hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, that’s bound to be interesting!

THURSDAY

The official artwork and titles of two-part Harry Potter London play revealed: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Part I and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Part II. Yup, just like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! The story is straight from J.K. Rowling and was written by Jack Thorne. Since it is very doubtful I get to watch the play (even a local production of it), I just hope the put the script in book format for us poor bastards.

  1. I’ve already got my Star Wars ticket for December 17th (the 7:45 PM “midnight” showing). Filed a vacation day for it at work. Bought toys and a bag. Brought a poster to work (we sell some Star Wars clothes too). I’m stuck in Disney/Lucasfilm’s claws…
