The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Always look on the bright side of life

TUESDAY

Benedict Cumberbatch had a photoshoot for Radio Times. And then another one. He seems to be wearing Spencer Hart clothes, and looks so damn good that even the gals at whatareyouwearingbenedict are impressed. Very impressed.

As was expected, the Cumberbabes also scanned the magazine. The interview shows us that Benedict does practice yoga, because there are a couple of foot-in-mouth moments… mostly related to “posh-bashing”.

I wasn’t born into land or titles, or new money, or an oil rig. [But he has been] castigated as a moaning, rich, public-school b*****d, complaining about only getting posh roles.

Oh Benedict, I’m sorry you weren’t rich enough to actually deserved that. But, you still went to Harrow… so suck it up and be happy!

Come on, Benny! It’s a good time to be you!

There was also an explosion of scanned articles of Benedict Cumberbatch. Parade’s End seemed to appear all over UK’s TV magazines!

Talking about the Sherlock star, they seem to want to remake Young Sherlock Holmes. Paramount approached Chris Columbus (who was the screenwriter of the original film) for direction. Sherlock meeting John Watson in school and solving mysteries? Yes, please! If the kids playing them are awesome enough, fandom will love it!

John Williams’ Superman theme won’t be used in Man of Steel, which is expected but still made me go, “Aww, why?” [1].

Robert Pattinson will play a young Lawrence of Arabia in new Werner Herzog movie, Queen of the Desert (and no, she ain’t a car named Priscilla). The film will chronicle Gertrude Bell’s life as a writer, archaeologist, explorer, and political attache for the British Empire over the Middle East. Naomi Watts will play Bell. And damn, Rpattz is making excellent career choices.

On the other hand, Kristen Stewart ain’t having a good time since the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman will be a Huntsman spiff-off, therefore if she has a part (which they doubt), it will be a small one. For me that’s great news! I’ll get more Chris Hemsworth! Although a prequel about the Witch would have been awesome too.

Here’s the new poster of The Last Stand, first English language movie of Korean director Jee-woo Kim, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Now this is an excellent part for old Arnold! I’m excited already!

Finally, new trailers for Star Wars and Star Trek games! Yay!

Okay, firstly. Your list of ladies for the Female Expendables is so much YES!!!! But ANY list requiring an all-female cast must, must, MUST include Helen Mirren… that is all.

And Spice Girls reunion part 2?! YES FUCKIN PLEASE!!!! I got cheated out of seeing the first go-round. Not a thing in all the cosmos would stop me from seeing round 2!

@Camiele, hahaha. I thought the rumor before the Olympics that Spice Girls would get together for that one time had Posh making all the Spices promise that it will be the last time xD

      • mirella says:

@amy, There are also rumours that said that the reason Posh actually was at the Closing Ceremony was because they showcased her fashion label at that fashion bit with David Bowie music~

@mirella, Are you serious… HaHa!!!! Oh my gawd, Posh. I’d say get over yourself, but there’s very little point when you’re as epic as anything having to do with the Spice Girls. So… you know… But I AM gonna need her to suck it up and be on stage again. I mean, let’s be real, once a Spice Girl, ALWAYS a Spice Girl. That’s not something you just STOP being just because you’re married… HaHa.

@mirella & Camiele, I suspect Posh is the Timberlake of the Spice xD like JT, Posh is ashamed of her past and would prefer you’d forget about it.

Having said that… OMG, Sporty Spice. xD Mel C is so much fun.
