The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: All aboard The Doctor’s Magic Caravan!

FRIDAY

A planet like Doctor Who‘s Gallifrey is discovered and I my shrill fangirl scream scared my poor dog.

And Troll King Steven Moffat talks about Doctor Who (and some about Elementary) [1]:

In one sense all the Doctor Who companions, for very, very good, dramatic reasons, have certain things in common. There are things that you need if you’re going to be the best friend to the Doctor and if you’re going to run away in a blue box. They’re always saying: ‘Why are they young?’ and I’m saying ‘Why do you think? Would a middle-aged person abscond in a magic caravan?

If they know what’s good for them, they will, dammit! And there’s been middle-aged people as companions in “Old Who”!

Also, watch him and his main cast Matt, Karen and Arthur bowling and being dorks.

And here’s the complete Doctor Who Series 7 prequel, Pond Life:

Oh yeah, dear Benny claims he was misquoted on the whole Jonny Lee Miller stuff.

I am both bemused and upset at this misquote. I never said that Johnny took the job for the paycheck nor did I ask him not to do it. What I said is I would have preferred not to be in the situation where we will again be compared because we are friends. I know for a fact his motivations were to do with the quality of the script and the challenges of this exceptional role.

I hope you have learned to keep your jokes between you and your friends, my darling. Some things don’t traslate well in paper, and you end up looking like a dick. Keep doing what you do best, acting, like in this awesome Parade’s End clip:

OIn more candid news about the Posh Alien Prince, look at him skydiving~

Hiddles is back in London <3

And Zachary Levi (who will take over playing Fandral from Josh Dallas), has met him already (and melted in his eyes, lol), so Hiddles must have been around Thor: The Dark World sets already.

Ian Derry keeps treating us with Hiddles pictures. He seems to love pandering to the Hiddlestoners.

Hell yeah The Hollow Crown on DVD! And with special features!

Joss Whedon talks about Marvel stuff, including the deleted scenes in Avengers and why he changed his mind about working with Marvel for three more years.

What’s great is that the deal with Marvel is nonspecific, so I will give all I can, but the moment I can’t, I just walk away. The moment I say, “You know, I’d like to help more on this project, but I need this time for The Avengers,” there’s no obligation. It’s not like, “You must spend this amount of time on this movie.” It’s as much as it needs to be.

That’s a pretty sweet deal!

Apparently, we could have had Transformers/JLA crossover!

It does seem it could have been epic, but “not sure if want” though~

And that’s it for this week. While I prepare for the first episode of Doctor Who Series 7, let me just give you this thing of beauty: Tumblr Fandom Style. Yes, it is a song about fandom and Tumblr sung with the Gangnam Style tune. And there’s already a video in the making!

Animation in China is leaping huge steps forward in the animated shorts done by students and newly setup studios. I hope it reaches it’s animated movies soon… especially with the start up of Dreamworks Shanghai and the likes.
